Position: Social Worker Childrens Location: Lancashire County Council

As a Social Worker in the Family Safeguarding Team, you will play a key role in protecting children and promoting their welfare. Your work will focus on supporting children and families where there are complex safeguarding concerns.

You will:

Work with children subject to Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) plans.
Carry out assessments, develop effective plans, and deliver interventions that improve outcomes for children.
Complete court work, including preparing statements, attending proceedings, and giving evidence as required.
Work collaboratively with other professionals, using a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguarding.
Use strength-based, relationship-focused practice to support families and reduce risk.

What We’re Looking For:

A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Experience working in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding or statutory roles.
The ability to manage a varied caseload and respond effectively to complex family dynamics.
Confidence and competence in completing court work and managing legal processes.
Strong communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to child-centred practice.
